Lisbon has springtime temperatures during the winter and cool summers freshened by the breeze blowing east from the Atlantic. Lisbon is located on the Costa de Lisboa, on the southwestern coast. It offers a rich diverse experience. Lisbon has been the capital of Portugal since its conquest from the Moors in 1147. Lisbon is a city steeped in a legendary 20 centuries of History. The Alfama is one of the oldest quarters in Lisbon. Next to the Alfama are the also old quarters of Castelo and Mouraria. Every year in June, the streets of all 3 quarters celebrate with the feasts in honour of the popular saints. Lisbon is also a great place for shopping, exciting nightlife, and world class museums.

National Art Museum The museum's collection includes seven fine collections of Painting, Sculpture, Drawings, Engraving, Jewelry, Ceramic, Textile and Furniture from the 12th to the 19th Centuries. It exhibits the masterpieces of European, African and Oriental art.
