Vienna is a metropolis that still cherishes her old dream of splendour and glory. The overly ornate façades and cobbled streets and countless ancient monuments make Vienne a place not to be missed. However in the heart of the city, one will discover contemporary architecture extending its tentacles. In the form of glass-and-chromium buildings. On the outskirts of Vienna a new district called Donau-City is being constructed. It is inspired by the skyline of places such as Chicago and Tokyo. The best way to discover the city and visit Vienna's sights is by public transport. You have the choice of the Subway (which run till just after midnight), Trams and Buses. The Vienna Card is the best way to take advantage of the extensive network of subway trains, streetcars and buses.

Besides the ViennaCard, the following tickets are available:
24-hour season ticket 5.00 Euro
72-hour season ticket 12.00 Euro
Single ride tickets 1.50 Euro

You can buy these tickets at the ticket sales offices of the Vienna Transport Authority. They are also available at tobacconists and from vending machines in the underground stations.
